This is how Teen Connections started, a six week workshop with 6 moms just wanting to come together and learn more about parenting their teens. We laughed, cried and shared and felt seen and heard by each other. Parenting teens can be isolating and lonely at times, as we navigate their privacy and our need for community.
This workshop is detailed and practical, we start with a brief look at our own childhood and how we were parented and how that spills in to the way we parent. We get in to the teen brain and why they act the way they do, we talk about risk and protective factors for our teens. The hard truths about parenting with fear and how it can actually create teens who don’t trust themselves, as well as how to navigate our fears so they don’t impede our teens growth.
We discuss how to stay connected, how to listen so our teens will talk and talk so our kids will listen, and share in the all the emotions that come along with parenting teens!
Parenting teens is tough—there’s no handbook, but this workshop helps fill in the gaps.
Over six weeks, parents will gain tools to connect with their teens, boost confidence, and navigate challenges with clarity.
